Simone Marie Pierce, 84, passed away on November 12, 2009 in Gainesville, FL. She was born in St. Isadore, Quebec, Canada and moved to Florida in 1938 and retired to Ocala in 1992. She worked as a book keeper for Winn Dixie and Grand Union. She enjoyed fishing, storytelling and sharing her boisterous laugh.
She is the loving wife of Thomas “Witt” Pierce; mother of Cindy (Jim Cunningham) Andrade; grandmother of Peter and Scott Andrade, also many loving nieces and nephews.
Family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 1 to 3 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville. A service will follow the visitation at 3 PM at the funeral home with Father Roland Julien officiating . Burial will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 11:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
