Ruth Elizabeth Hahne Hardeman, beloved wife and mother, passed away January 26, 2010 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 83 years old.
Mrs. Hardeman was born in Evanston, Illinois and moved to Gainesville in 1970 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin, a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, a member of Kappa Alkpha Theta sorority and while in college she was voted a Badger Beauty. She was also a member Daughters of the American Revolution. While living in Gainesville, she was a realtor and an active member for many years of the Gainesville Garden Club-Daisy Circle. She was a prolific reader, a passionate supporter of the environment and staunch proponent of charitable giving.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Helen Hahne and her sister Dorothy Hahne. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Hardeman, and her three children Steve Hardeman (Donna) of Hendersonville, NC, Keith Hardeman (Janet) of Charleston, SC, Joanne Hardeman of Tampa and grandchildren Geoffrey, Emily and Katie Hardeman.
