Lawrence Kobb, 79, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2010 at his home. Mr. Kobb was born in Staten Island, NY and moved to Gainesville 12 years ago from Homestead. He was a retired stock broker and served in the Army National Guard for 8 years. He was a member of B'Nai Isreal where he volunteered. He also volunteered at the public library. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias.
He was a loving, supportive and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride and pleasure in his family.
He is preceded in death by his brother Bernard Kobb. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barrie Kobb, sons Steven Kobb (Rita)of Gainesville and David Kobb (Heidi) of Howell, NJ and 2 grandchildren Susanne Kobb Varod and Michael Kobb.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 10:00 AM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, Fl with Rabbi Kaiman officiating. Burial will follow at B'Nai Isreal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 2119 Southwest 16th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608.
