Kermit Sikes, 96, of Old Town, passed away on July 6, 2010.
He was born in Alachua Florida to C.W. and Virginia Lee Sikes on January 20, 1914. He was a cattle rancher by trade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Delmir Sikes, Joe Sikes, Eugene Sikes, half-brother, George Sikes and his wife, Osquer; his sisters, Quartie Sikes, Ruby Sikes, Clair Sikes and Coar Sikes.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Sikes; a stepson, Curtis Bobo of Old Town; step daughters, Pat Miles of Edgewater, FL and Robin Loncarvic of Gainesville, FL and a daughter-in-law, Betty Sikes of Bell, FL and a grandson, Larry Sikes of Bronson, FL.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville, with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ft. Pierce on Friday, July 9, at 1:30 PM.
