Our prayers and love go out to the Long family especially in there time of grief. It was always wonderful listening to the music of the young children coming from Genevieve's home. We will miss her.

My heart aches with the loss of Mrs. Long. She was one of the guiding lights in my childhood - I will always remember how she taught me to make teddy-bear bread (with raisin eyes), and how she patiently taught me, even when I hadn't practiced enough. She was a steadying, calming, and consistent presence, who brought much love into my life. I will miss her dearly, and send my warmest and most supportive thoughts to her family and friends.

Genevieve was a lovely, sweet person. She always kept a positive attitude despite her medical issues. She always had a smile and good word for everyone. We will miss her face here at Shands. Peace be with her family.

Was so sad to hear Genevieve had passed away. She must have been a very strong person to live with the problems that she had to live with. Now she can be free of any illness & enjoy heaven & eternity. My sympathy to all her sisters.

I was very sad to learn of Genevieve's passing. I will always remember our family get togethers as a child in Thiensville. I will always remember her as a happy smiling young lady, my cousin. We will keep her in our prayers and thoughts.

The people who teach us and guide us make a profound impression on who we turn out to be. I will never forget learning to play the song, Two Grenadiers, from Genieve. She said, "Oh my gosh, I'll see if I can get through this without crying, well, I'll just tell you the story of it and I'll cry and then we can go on." I will never forget how she told the story and I cried, she cried and my son cried. I think of that story every time I hear the French national anthem.
Teaching the violin was her passion and the example of living your passion was a big lesson. But the story of the Two Grenadiers was also a big example of her capacity of empathy and compassion.
Thanks for ALL the lessons, Genieve!
